Just weeks ago, i saw the barrier.
Now, i see cranes hovering.
That's one plot of land going to be urbanised. I wonder what they're going to build there? It used to be a large field for people to play soccer, now, it's going to be converted into something that blocks the wonderful scenery.
Then i look right down out of my window. And i see that plot of land with pipes installed underneath. Likewise, this was used for soccer by little children, unlike the one on top.
They came to test the soil.
They installed pipes underground.
Makes me wonder if there are magnesium patches on it.
Then i realised, the pipes are plastic.
No barriers yet. But it is inevitable. Someday, barriers will form. Then i will see another infrastructure being built. Right in my face.
Then i wonder, what's going to happen to that plot of land outside Huamin Primary School with a signboard 'State Land' on it? Maybe tresspassers will be shot.
Thinking how yishun would change in like a few years time is saddening, yet full of hope.
New hospitals, new buildings, new shopping mall. Old residents, old me, old spirit.
What a contrast.
